Somato Emotional Release

SER is a hands on therapeutic treatment that uses and expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help relax the body to help deal with the residual effects of stress. We acknowledge that the source of pain or discomfort in the body can be more than bio mechanical in nature and subscribe to a biosychosocial approach to  manual therapy.

Our pain and tension can  be influenced by other factors or stressors (like our emotional state and our environment) which can contribute to tension in the body. The philosophy behind SER  is that the stress that one accumulates over time can be the root cause of chronic physical tension in the body.

SER is a gentle osteopathic technique that incorporates gentle joint mobilizations/joint play and light fascial mobilizations. SER can help to bringing  awareness to areas of tension in the body to promote relaxation of the tissue. It can also create a sense of calm or relaxation in the body by increasing the parasympathetic nervous system response.

This treatment is offered by Stephanie Langlais RMT .

Visceral Manipulation employs specifically placed gentle touch that alleviate tension by encouraging the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and the connective tissue that surround each of the body’s organ systems.

The visceral system includes the internal organs of the body, such as the liver, kidneys and intestines. is used to locate and solve problems that develop due to restrictions in the viscera which can have impact throughout the body’s internal systems, as well as external musculoskeletal and fascial systems. The treatment encourages your own natural mechanisms of healing, which improves the functioning of your organs, alleviates the negative effects of stress, and improves overall health.
